Nest Walking Group in Bantry Bay

August 1. 2020, this sunny Saturday morning gave us the opportunity to do something unusual, to spend a day outdoors with friends, in the beautiful nature of Bantry Bay. This time our hiking trail was perhaps the most difficult so far, especially after a few rainy days. Along the way we had to overcome a few slippery rocks, some fallen trees and a few muddy areas … but all in the name of a good exercise … Still, the great views and pristine nature were more than a reward for the whole group.

After the walk, another reward was waiting for us at the Dutch Club, where lunch was prepared by an amazing group of volunteers and Milan Gligorić who was ready to entertain us with his great voice and music.

Thanks everyone for a great day.

Special thanks to Marko for the delicious goulash, Goran for an amazing 15 hours of slow cooking pork, Snežana, Smilja and Monica for the delicious sweets, and a big thanks to our leader of the walking group George who successfully brought us back to where we started. No one got lost and everyone enjoyed the day in this beautiful nature.

As always, many thanks to our Nest team of volunteers who are always there to help before, during and after the event.

We are especially proud and happy to announce the following:
Thanks to donations collected during our lunch on Saturday, and also from previous events, Nest Inc. is able to donate the amount of $800, as a one-off donation to the “Zvezda” centre in Belgrade for the purchase of kitchen appliances and household items for new residents of “House of Opportunity” in Niš and Belgrade. The “Zvezda” centre is an association of citizens whose goal is to promote foster care, help youth and children without parental care in orphanages. They also support young people who are preparing for independent life after leaving the system of social care, and thus enable better social integration of these children and young people.

More information available on their website.

One of Nest’s previous humanitarian actions was dedicated to the “Zvezda” Centre. In 2019, during the AC tennis tournament, we raised enough funds to buy a candle-making laser machine, which still provides income for several of these young people. For more details click here.

It is great to support another humanitarian action and thank you all for making this possible.

See you next month on our next walk or maybe earlier at one of our many other events.
